The public interest test is one that is now causing much concern with many residents. There are those of us within C.C.B.C who feel that too many items are coming forward in this category. Unfortunately, we have been opposed previously when putting forward our concerns about the exemption recommendations on some matters.
I agree wholeheartedly! Taxpayers should know what their money is being spent on. Exemptions should be made in relation to personal staffing issues and cases where disclosure may be commercially sensitive in that any competition may scupper a plan or ruin a business. People tend to hide behind the excuse of Data Protection, but we should also have Freedom of Information
